Jonathon has a wife of 21 years, Angie Holcomb Horton; and Three Daughters: Hannah, Lora, and Jonah Horton. He and his family attend Flow of the Spirit Church, in Ashville, AL.
Jonathon is a veteran of the United States Navy and the United States Army. He served Active Duty in the U.S. Navy from 1992-1996 on the West Coast. Jonathon Served from 1998-2003 in the Alabama Army National Guard, were he volunteered to Active duty after 9/11, serving as Airport Security at Alabama’s Major Airports. Throughout his military career he was the recipient of two Naval Letters of Commendation and Three Army Achievement Medals.
Jonathon has a variety of experience in law enforcement. He has been affiliated with Law Enforcement since 2001 when he began as a patrol deputy at the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office. While serving as a Deputy Sheriff, he performed various duties such as: Criminal Investigator, Crime Scene Investigator, Evidence/Property Technician, Arson Investigator, and Narcotics Agent. Jonathon was an original member of the Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit. Jonathon was a graduate of West End High School and Gadsden State Community College. Along with numerous certifications in law enforcement, Jonathon has an A.A.S. Degree in Criminal Justice.
Jonathon also has been a license Funeral Director since 1998 and enjoys helping his family in the funeral business, at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home.
