Garbage & Brush Pick Up

Garbage cans must be out by 6 am on the morning of pickup and must be off street by 12 noon on the day after pickup. The City of Glencoe does not pick up rubbish, such as furniture, discarded building materials, etc. Only garbage in a city issued garbage can or brush, limbs, and bagged leaves are picked up as a service by the city. Citizens are responsible for hauling their rubbish to an approved landfill.

Any rubbish piled in yards or street side is a violation of the city’s Property Maintenance Code and will be cited with a Notice of Violation. Gadsden does have a city dump located nearby off of Highway 431, which residents can use for a nominal fee. The City of Glencoe’s Public Works Department does provide brush, limb and leaf pickup as a service to our citizens. Leaves must be bagged. All brush and limbs must be placed in the right of way at the street for pickup.
