Councilman - Streets and Sanitation
Councilman Wayne Farley is currently serving in his fourth consecutive term as a member of the Glencoe City Council. Wayne serves as the City Council Representative of Streets and Sanitation, a position he has held since he was first elected in 2004. During his time representing Streets and Sanitation, the Streets Department has acquired various new equipment and the city has made improvements in the city’s parks, including the recent addition of the new Splash Pad, which will debut in May of 2014. Besides his work as a Councilman and public servant, he has coached girl’s softball, served as a member of the Building Committee at First Baptist Church of Glencoe, and is an active member of the Glencoe Athletic Foundation. Mr. Farley has been a resident of Glencoe since he married his wife, Scarlett, 45 years ago. Scarlett was the principal at Glencoe Middle School for 25 years. Wayne retired after a 30 year career with Goodyear. Wayne and Scarlett raised all three of their children in Glencoe. Their daughter, Wendy, is the librarian at Glencoe High School, and their daughter, Cassie, is the librarian at Southside High School. Their daughter, Karen, is an attorney in Birmingham. The couple are now the proud grandparents of four grandchildren, Christopher, Sally, Drew and Luke. Christopher Tinker graduated from Glencoe High School and now attends Auburn University. Sally Tinker is a Junior at Glencoe High School. Drew Clark is in Kindergarten at Southside Elementary School. Luke Clark attends daycare at Southside Baptist Church.
