For Immediate Release: January 25, 2023 City of Glencoe entered a contract to further modernize Police Department. Glencoe, AL - The City of Glencoe announced that they have entered into a contract with Lexipol, L.L.C.  Lexipol is a company based in Frisco, Texas, that provides policy and training solutions for public safety and local governments.  Glencoe has engaged Lexipol specifically for the purpose of providing its services to the Glencoe Police Department. “We became aware early in this administration that the Police Department’s policies and procedures that were previously in place were sorely inadequate to deal with the issues faced by modern police departments.,” said Mayor Hare. Hare said, the desire of the Mayor and Council to modernize the management and oversight of the Police Department led to a thorough examination of the options available to address those issues. Glencoe joins the Etowah County Sheriff’s office and numerous local municipalities now utilizing Lexipol’s services. This relationship will allow the Glencoe Police Department to replace antiquated policies and procedures with the same up-to-date and cutting-edge resources utilized by law enforcement agencies nationwide in order to better serve the citizens of the City of Glencoe.   ###
