Parks and Recreation
Donnie Adcock is the Park Supervisor for the City of Glencoe. Donnie graduated from Hokes Bluff High School in 1985 and attended Gadsden State Community College. Donnie has ten years experience as a fork lift operator and grounds keeper and fifteen years as an automotive mechanic. As our Parks Supervisor, Donnie oversees all maintenance of Hollingsworth Park as well as Wilson Park, including the upkeep and maintenance of our five game fields and sixteen practice fields and soccer fields, striping, mowing and dragging ball fields, building mounds, overseeding, and the maintenance of equipment. He will be in charge of the operation and maintenance of our new splash pad upon its opening in May.
Donnie and his team strive daily to achieve the Parks and Recreation mission statement:
“To promote safe family interaction through safe facilities for people of all ages, and to be the best park facility in Etowah County; a park that is functional as well as a park that all citizens of Glencoe can appreciate and be proud of.”
Donnie has been called to preach and has been preaching since 2011. He coached Upward Basketball for six years, pee wee football for six years, and youth baseball and softball for six years. Donnie and his wife, Denise, live in Glencoe and have been married for twenty-four years. They have a daughter, Amber, who is currently attending Gadsden State Community College majoring in Nursing, and a son, Trey, who also attends Gadsden State Community College.
