Property Maintenance

Property maintenance is an important part of ownership.  Proper maintenance of property maintains and increases property values, promotes economic growth, and contributes to the overall health and beauty of our community.
 
 

Herb Riley is the License Inspector for the City of Glencoe.  Herb graduated from Gadsden High School in 1951 and has lived in Glencoe since 1959.  Herb married Glencoe native Kathryn Thomas in 1955.  The couple raised all five of their children in Glencoe.  Herb retired from Siemens Electrical Manufacturing in 1984.  Herb worked part-time for the Glencoe Streets Department as a mower for five years.  He has worked for the city on a full time basis since 2005.  Recently, he transferred from the Streets Department to the position of License Inspector for the Building Department, where works to beautify and maintain the city by enforcing the city’s property maintenance codes and zoning ordinances. Herb has been married for two years to his wife, Phyllis.  They currently reside in Ohatchee.
